CUSTOMS & VISA REQUIREMENTS
Duty Free Shopping: Besides personal belongings such as laptops, video camera, camera, tourists entering Brazil are allowed to buy merchandise at the airport duty free shop upon arrival. You will be greeted by its representatives and pointed to the duty free shop.
Visa: As the Brazilian Foreign Office bases its actions on reciprocity, visitors from some foreign countries will require a visa which is usually processed within two working days by applying to the nearest Brazilian Embassy or Consulate. Requirements for a tourist visa include a passport valid for at least six months from the date of arrival, 1 passport size 2″x2″ photograph and a round trip ticket. Most international airlines can advise on visa requirements for tourists.
Current Passport: Applicant must submit their original passport book. Passport must have one blank visa page and MUST NOT EXPIRE within 6 months from departure date.
Passport Photo: One passport photo taken within the past 6 months. The photo must be 2×2 (inches) with a white background.
Application Form: Applicant must submit one application form. Completely fill in the form so as not to delay your application. MAKE SURE TO SIGN THE FORM. Click here to fill out the application form.
Proof of Travel: Applicant must submit a copy of round trip tickets or itinerary from an air carrier or travel agent. It must show flight information, the dates of departure and return to the U.S. and the applicant’s name.
Proof of Address: Applicant must submit a copy of Driver’s license, State ID or a Utility bill. If applicant has recently moved and have not yet updated their ID applicant must submit a copy of their Utility bill.
Legal Status (non-US Passport Holders): Applicant must submit a copy of your valid Alien Registration Card (Green Card), Visa, or other proof of your legal status in the United States, with the permission for re-entry.
Minors Traveling to Brazil: If applicant is under 18, applicant must include a copy of birth certificate. Parents must also fill out and notarize the minor authorization form. Click here for Minor Authorization Form.
Business Travel: Applicants must submit a Business Cover Letter from a U.S. company indicating the purpose of travel , the duration of stay, the duration and type of visa requested ( I.E. a five year business visa) and the letter must include the statement that “XYZ company would be morally and fiscally responsible” for the visa applicant while the applicant is in the issuing country.
